Just got back from London with Transat Holidays.
7 days, flights were with Westjet & Thomas cook airlines.
We stayed at the Ibis Earls Court & the Thistle Kensington Park.
The Capital of England and the United Kingdom, London is an ancient yet very modern!
London is the Theatre Capital of the World. We went to the Theatre 2 times in one week.
The London Tower Bridge was fascinating to visit, it was built in 1830 and was ahead of its time.
There are 7.5 Million people in London. We went to see Big Ben - a clock tower which rises 106 m.
Westminster Abbey is definitely one of London;s must see attractions. The final resting place of famous figures and also hosted numerous royal weddings.
The coolest place to check out is Piccadilly Circus, pubs, theatres, restaurants and nightclubs. And Shopping of course. Though most of you have heard of Harrods the famous department store where the rich & famous shop! Also Oxford street is known for its shopping. Leicester square is entirely reserved for pedestrians. Laid out in 1670's. More shopping & pubs in this area. Trafalgar Square was laid out in 1830's and is an amazing historical site to visit.
Of course we went to Buckingham Palace & seen the changing of the guards. There were thousands of people here so you need to get there early so you don't miss out!
I am familiar with the transportation system as I used it myself the entire week. It was an attraction in itself. The Tube- is the underground rail system. Very easy to learn. I strongly recommend purchasing the London pass its good for the Tube & the bus's. You need to purchase this in Canada prior to leaving.
Another suggestion is getting the Hop on Hop off pass this was terrific. After being up for 24 hours travelling we took the scenic & laid back way to see London our first day!
I had the opportunity to see 15 different hotels while I was in London.
