Texaribbean – Cruising with Janet
From the moment I saw the ship, embarked, and disembarked on our final day, everything went smoothly. The cabin was very spacious, 4 star standards. The food was fantastic, from the buffets to the a la cartes and the speciality restaurants. We had an amazing steak and lobster dinner for only an additional $20.00. The entertainment was beyond 5 star ratings! Even though Norwegian Cruise Lines is a freestyle cruise, casual atmosphere by no means was the entertainment. They had comedians, singers, and Broadway shows! This Casual Freestyle Cruise company does offer formal evenings in one dining area or casual jeans in the alternate dining room. Or if you really wanted to be lazy, they offer 24 hours room service included!
It is recommended to pre-pay the gratuities, which is an average of $10.00 per day. The maids were amazing and made a point of knowing your names. Personal service and comfortableness is how I will remember Norwegian Cruise Lines.
The three ports of calls were Roatan, Belize City, and Cozumel.
Our excursion in Roatan was very well organized. We went to Gumbalimba Park, where we watched the colours of the Caribbean come alive as we interacted with the birds and monkeys. We also learnt about the history of the Pirates of the Caribbean. After visiting the botanical gardens we indulged in a lobster lunch. This excursion had a great rate of $69.00 per person.
It is recommended you pre-book an excursion in Belize. There is nothing at the pier.
We took a river boat ride, which gave us many opportunities to take pictures of the vast wildlife in the area. Our destination was visiting the local ruins in the area.
The island of Cozumel is still in a devastation that the hurricane had created though they are working diligently and the hotels are opening better than ever. The main activity in Cozumel is diving and snorkelling.
