What an amazing country! A trip I will never forget!
I was in Thailand, on an Imaginative Traveller tour, for 2 weeks — it was too short of a trip but just enough time to get a taste of the culture.
One of the best parts of the trip was Hill tribe trekking in Northern Thailand, what a personal and physical challenge. We spent 4 wonderful days in the hill tribes. We were woken up by roosters under the hut every morning at 5 AM.
Off the beaten path is exactly what this tour was.
- Shopping in Chiang Mai’s famous night market was such an experience – the perfect place to learn how to barter.
- So many great deals! ATM’s are readily available everywhere.
- We travelled by night trains, boats and planes.
- We went bamboo rafting and elephant trekking through the jungle.
- We also stayed in rafthouses in Kho Sak National Park, where we were woken by monkeys every morning!
