Destination Weddings
Destination Weddings are also known as Weddingmoons. Weddingmoons are becoming more & more popular every year.
I’ve booked approximately ten wedding groups in the past few years, with group
sizes anywhere from fifteen to fifty people.
What is a destination wedding? Well to answer your question, it’s not the normal traditional style wedding. A destination wedding is a wedding in a tropical paradise with memories to last forever.
Why Plan a Destination Wedding?
- Wedding & honeymoon in one.
- Most people travel down south once a year anyway why not to your special day!
- Cost effective – the rates are less than planning a wedding locally in Manitoba, some couples I know have spent from 15 000 to 20 000 on their weddings!
- You can tie the knot in the Caribbean from $5000.00 and up for both of you including your wedding, unforgettable memories, plus that includes your honeymoon!
- You will spend a full week of celebrations with friends & family. Most brides’ & groom’s decide to stay for two weeks while waving bye to friends & family after their one-week stay. Then it’s Honeymoon time!
- If you’re already married – most resorts have renewal of vows to celebrate that special anniversary.
- Whether you are dealing with a resort or a cruise line they always have the services of a wedding coordinator and your travel consultant can help you with all the details.
Great ideas for Destination Weddings:
- Disney World offers Fairy Tale weddings; Disney world is a great place for families to come together to celebrate a special occasion. Disney can recreate any fairy tale!
- Las Vegas is the wedding Capital of the world, a white wedding under neon lights. Las Vegas performs 130 000 weddings a year. They have the experience!
- Princess Cruises offers Engagement under the stars. I think this is a really neat idea. They pre video tape the wannabe groom popping the question and then project the proposal on the ships giant outdoor movie screen before the feature film begins- Then the bride & groom can return for a wedding afloat!
- Princess Cruise lines & Carnival both have a chapel onboard for weddings at sea
- Underwater I do’s at the Occidental Grand in Cozumel they perform an underwater ceremony; the package includes a 2-tank dive for up to four people, the services of the resort's wedding coordinator.
- Beach weddings & garden weddings are all available in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Costa Rica, Hawaii and the list goes on!
Planning a destination wedding can be difficult for someone who’s never done it before. In each country, the process of the marriage requirements varies. There are fees and important documents that need to be legalized, authenticated and translated. Meeting with an expert, such as a travel consultant, is highly recommended. Making an appointment or a phone call is the best way to start the planning process. I’ve planned two weddings without ever meeting my clients, which was done via email and telephone conversations, but it is nice to meet in person.
During the meeting process the travel consultant and the bride & groom will determine what kind of destination wedding would best suit them. Imagine your perfect wedding. Holiday Travel will do all we can to make your dream a reality.
